Dunmire Hollow Community

United States
Dunmire Hollow (est. 1973) is a community of about a dozen people sharing their lives and 163 acres in a magic hollow in Tennessee. We have fields, orchards, gardens, woods, springs, creeks, a community center, a woodshop, a sauna, a food co-op, family houses, etc. Each family is economically independent; we make/have made our livings in a variety of ways--teaching, construction, woodworking, nursing, doctoring, lawyering, auto repair, sewing, truck driving, small-engine repair, and crafts--and from providing for ourselves more directly through domestic economy and barter.
As individuals, we have a variety of enthusiasms that often involve us with the world and other people: organic gardening, music, crafts, environmentalism, peace work, sports, community networking, aquaculture, alternative energy, etc. Each resident adds to the diverse mix that makes up our community.
We are happy to communicate with people who are interested in rural-community living. We enjoy visitors; please write for more information or to arrange a visit.
