| The Tribe Füssen Eins is also known as Tribe of Likatien. Likatien means “residents at lik,” which refers to the last ancient Celtic tribe, living at the river Lech.
One of our central visions is to become a tribe—in a modern meaning. For us, that means a special quality of admitting with each other and being close to our emotional and spiritual reality.
In the way people get involved with the tribe and each other, the tribe becomes sustainable. In the inner circle the people swear to stay here for their whole lives. That establishes the base for the tribe and for following generations.
We want to develop a culture of love and trust as a sign for mankind’s original destiny— culture which includes the consciousness of a balance in relationships, between people and nature but also between each other. So communication is very important for us.
The Tribe was founded in 1974 and counted in 2006 above 270 people, more than half of them children and youths.
In the city of Füssen we own about 25 houses, where we live and work. We want to develop the possibility for all our members to work in our own companies. We have an esoteric bookshop, a bio-shop, internet shops, lawyers, a healer’s school with holistic doctors, and there is a group of people doing agriculture for the tribe, trying to develop permaculture. We're just at the beginning of this development, because we're in need of additional dedicated people.
Our tribe is structured like a mandala, with different circles expressing the degree of identifying with the tribe. Our community decisions we make by consensus. People in the inner circle meet every evening for discussing problems and working together.
And there are also many festivities. The tribe loves good party spirit, because enthusiastic lively party elation creates a feeling of paradise. And that’s a target the tribe aspires to: to create a possibility for Paradise on earth. |
