Pumpkin Hollow Retreat Center
Craryville, New York,
United States
(located 1 hr from Albany NY, 21/2 hrs from NYC and Boston)
Labyrinth at the Hollow
Since 1937 PUMPKIN HOLLOW RETREAT CENTER has provided a peaceful and harmonious setting in which our essential spirituality can blossom and grow. We offer a rural sanctuary to promote the experience of the unity of all life and to evoke personal transformation. The Retreat Center is committed to programs and events which uniquely fulfill these ideals. Our goal is to foster fellowship, service and study; offering opportunities for self-discovery, meditation, healing and connecting with nature.
Nestled amidst the Berkshire and Taconic Mountains, Pumpkin Hollow covers 130 acres of open fields, lush forests, colorful flowerbeds and an abundant organic vegetable garden nourished by the crystal clear Taconic Stream. The stream flows through the Hollow, past the campfire grove and swimming hole, the garden and the meditation center, then ruses over a waterfall and out through the base of a deep hemlock-lined gorge.
BRING YOUR GROUP Are you looking for a place to hold a gathering for your group? Pumpkin Hollow is the perfect setting for retreats, workshops, studies and practice.
The central farmhouse, meditation center and cabins are surrounded by shady areas on our beautifully groomed grounds. Across the stream, a network of nature trails connects to the labyrinth, Healer's sanctuary, peace prayer pole, meditation walk and campfire grove.
THE WAY OF LIFE...is best described as 'organic' in nature, a richly physical, social and spiritual environment conducive to nurturing each individual's desire to discover and explore their inner path. Our waterfall, trails, labyrinth and other sacred spaces allow you to commune intimately with Nature and your Inner Self. Opportunities to meditate alone or with a group, are fundamental here. The Hollow becomes a 'home' as visitors sense a release from the cares of life and relax into a fresh vitality and awareness.
Service is an integral part of our center;caring for the Hollow is achieved through the spirit of volunteerism and in service to one another. In accordance with our principle of respect for all life, our cuisine is vegetarian. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not allowed on the property.
