Padanaram Settlement is a utopian community established in 1966 for the purpose of building a microcosm city of Kingdomism, a future religious and political (polit-theo) style of living to be practiced in the millennium. Small kinglets will have their own businesses, schools, and farmlands and will be autonomous yet joined together in a network of communities that will encompass the globe.
We live on 3,000 acres in rural southern Indiana and have a number of private residences including large lodges with apartments, and single homes. We have community buildings where we hold conventions, local events within the community and weekly meetings. Pot lucks, cook-outs, celebrations, and get togethers are on a frequent basis. We have a number of independent businesses outside the community--timber, composting/bark mulch, window washing, painting/wallpaper, and landscaping among others. We have woods, streams, and organically certified farmland for crops, produce and herbs. We believe in self-sufficiency and sustainable living. We are tax paying, voting citizens and are not a religious organization.
We have recently published the spiritual writings of Daniel Wright, founder of Padanaram Settlement. It is entitled "My Word Shall Guide Thee". It can be purchased on the web from Amazon.com, AuthorHouse.com or Barnes and Noble.
We have open meetings twice a year. The dates of the first convention are June 13 and 14. Meetings will start at 1 and 7:30 each evening. The format is open discussion on any subject. Music, group singing, individual testimonials...all welcome If you plan to attend and need directions, let us know. Contact person: Rachel Summerton.

I've been coming and going to the valley for 30 years. My brother Paul Montgomery just pass away there. He loved the valley like no other place on the earth. Years ago, I had the privlidge of meeting Daniel. For a man that was loosing his eye sight, he could see more in man and nature that most could not. With names like "High Misty,Summer Lake,The Parthanon,Picnic Hill...names to fit the look and the feel for the painting of the eyes.(although some were named after Daniel's time, the theroy was passed on) What a place to live...they have changed with the times but in saying that..........They've kept Daniel's dream in their hearts!

hello everyone back in good ole padanaram...i also remember growing up in the village next to the creek. i would scared but the elders would remind me that there was nothing to be afraid of because there were only "kind" spirits there...even though their words were comforting i still had the fear in me. the days were good and relaxing. now i am older and i live in the real world or a AWFUL GOVERNMENT! i would love to come back and someday experience padanaram again...if they'll have me..love you all.

Just wanted to say Hi! I was a child at Padanaram, and remember everything about it. It was a wonderful time in my life. I remember turtle traps in the creek, and all the kids sleeping at the cabin by the pond. I have often told people about how wonderful it was for me.
Thanks, Chris
