family road trip
We are a small homesteading family farm on East Maui, looking for motivated and somewhat skilled people to help us create an eco village that is off grid and moving in the direction of sustainability.
Much has been started on the farm, and you are entering with plenty of infrastructure in place.
We are in need of people willing and able to contribute $300 a month for a place to stay, and this includes many staple foods and some kitchen supplies. Our gardens are producing and much of our landscape is edible. We have goats and chickens, many gardens, a small greenhouse, composting piles, a worm composting system, and a few small ponds.
There are communal work parties once or twice a week for a total of 6 hours. Additional hours are to be spent on your personal management around your dwelling and areas of expertise and/or personal projects (approx. 10hrs/wk).
Skills needed: Electrical and/or soloar system experience, gardening/landscaping, carpentry, aqua ponics and aqua culture experience, animal husbandry, etc.
We are very remote and rustic. It rains plenty here, and the temperature doesn't go below 60 degrees or over 90 degrees.
We can accomodate year round people or people that can commit to a portion of the year, in two to six month intervals.
