Manitou Arbor Ecovillage
Kalamazoo, Michigan,
United States
(No residental units yet built at the above address)
We are an ecospiritual community in the process of developing a sustainable, middle-income ecovillage in a suburb of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Pre-construction planning is in process through our own LLC. It will be a condominium upon completion. The focus will be on education, outreach, and modeling sustainable living.
We anticipate moving into the financial aspects of development by spring 2012 and hope to begin building in 2013.WE ARE NOW TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR SITES.
See our webpage and covenant for a more complete understanding of our vision, values, and commitments. It also contains archives of recent minutes.
We prefer interested individuals to contact us for orientation prior to participating in meeting of group--in order to answer individual questions and not to impede our planning progress.
We desire an inter-generational, inter-faith, diverse mix of residents who seek to live together as a village community and in harmony with the natural world.
Many details are still being worked out, both in terms of physical design issues and in terms of our desired governance processes, as well as decisions about many aspects of how we wish to live together including community responsibilities, etc. Input of new members welcomed.
