Twelve Tribes Community in Coxsackie
Coxsackie, New York,
United States
Welcome to the sleepy village of Coxsackie. Preserved by neglect for 100 years, the old buildings stand tall just as in the yellowed postcards, frozen in time, waiting for loving hands to bring them to life again. Our community’s vision is a long-term one, as we slowly fix up these buildings and restore their former glory.
As the buildings are slowly healed, we are also seeing healing in our personal lives and families, as we entrust ourselves to our Master Yahshua. Many of us had some major lacks in our foundations, but through the help of our brothers and sisters speaking the truth in love, we are being rebuilt into what we were created to be.
We own a beautiful but forlorn 3-story opera house called the Building Block next to the Hudson. The public will be able to travel up the river and dock their boat, and meander through waterfront gardens into the theater, where they will be inspired and enlightened by our own plays. For now, we endure the greater work of building patience in our hearts.
Next to this, a quaint building, formerly the Electric Co., now houses our print shop, which supplies printing to our industries and curriculum for our children. There is also a 1850s storefront, once condemned, but now home to our families and our shoe store “Simon the Tanner”.
Come by boat or by car. Our doors are always open. We love to share the hope we have. We're about 10 min. off the I-87 Thruway and the closest community to New York City. Come for a day or to stay!
