| Border bioregion 30 miles west of Columbia, Missouri. We envision creating a community of one or two additional small families.
Following permaculture and companion planting ideals, we cultivate beautiful gardens/orchards and raise animals in our open land along Cave Creek. We are presently 2 adults and two children living in and adding onto a photovoltaic-powered, passive-solar, straw-bale/cob home, and working on constructing other (cordwood/strawbale/other) buildings. We also own and operate a small general store in prairie home, MO.
Ecological living, creative farming, personal growth, crafts, community outreach/environmental education, and consensus-based decision making are our main goals. We intend for our livelihood to thrive on the land. Gatherings for interpersonal growth, business, dinners, and other fun activities happen on a regular basis. We have exchanges with other intentional communities in the region to further our mutual learning and growth. We invite people to join us who are creative and energetic and can follow through with thought, action, and emotion. Apprenticeships possible. A letter or phone call required. | Community location is placed at the center of the zip/postal code, city/state, or city/country (not based on street addresses) |
