Border bioregion 30 miles west of Columbia, Missouri. We envision creating a community of six to eight adults plus children. Following permaculture and companion planting ideas, we cultivate beautiful gardens/orchards and will raise animals in our open land near Cave Creek. As of 2/99, we are living in and completing construction of a photovoltaic-powered, passive-solar, straw-bale/cob community center. Ecological living, personal growth, crafts, community outreach/environmental education, and consensus-based decision making are our main goals. We intend for our livelihood to thrive on the land. Gatherings for interpersonal growth, business, dinners, and other fun activities happen on a regular basis. We have exchanges with other intentional communities in the region to further our mutual learning and growth.
