| Ananda Dhiira is nestled in the beautiful Sierra Nevada foothills, on twenty acres above the south fork of the Yuba River. We are an extended community with spiritual and moral values as its foundation and we are moving towards sustainability.
Ananda Dhiira is a place of self-discovery for people awakening to social and spiritual awareness. It is also a place of spiritual renewal, supporting individual and collective transformation through holistic living, wholesome vegetarian diet, yoga, meditation, and service.
The mission of Ananda Dhiira is to model a lifestyle which balances the cultivation of an inner spiritual life with the external world. The center is managed by yogic nuns and seeks to support the spiritual lives of women, hosting women’s activities and retreats, and serving as a women’s yogic training center.
Ananda Dhiira’s facilities are available to the greater community: for individual private retreats, group retreats, and workshops. We can accommodate groups up to 30 people. Indoor and outdoor accommodations are available. Please contact us for details.
Recently we have undertaken an ecological restoration project along the creek that flows through the property. This project aims to reestablish native habitat for wildlife and restore ecological balance.
As we are in the beginning stage of building a spiritual community, and are also working on organic gardening, landscape design, orchard design and maintenance, irrigation, and green building construction.
