Community Building
We are co-creating a rural community of small cabins and sharing life day to day. We advocate living a simple and sustainable life in full harmony with the Earth. A community land trust holds the land in perpetuity. Major decisions are made with full consensus.
Cabins are privately owned, some with electricity and/or water. Composting toilets prevail. A 16' x 24' cabin now provides shared kitchen, laundry, and showers. There is a 48' x 48' covered platform, which enables us to comfortably host large groups for open-air functions. There are also several tent platforms peppering the land for those wishing to camp, and a small cabin for non-residents.
We host a weeklong circle dance camp in the summer.
We're located on a rugged, heavily wooded site of 40 acres on the southern edge of the White Mountains National Forest in the Baker River Valley (close to the Appalachian Trail, mountains, lakes, and streams).
