Gregory House
Ann Arbor, Michigan,
United States
Founded in 1995, Karl D. Gregory House is the newest addition to the ICC. Because our house is the only substance-free house in the ICC, we pride ourselves on a house culture quite unique from that of many other co-ops. We tend to attract friendly, slightly wacky housemates. Just because we're substance free doesn't mean we don't know how to have fun! Our house is usually quiet enough to get your work done, but there's just about always something going on, whether it be housemates goofing around in our large basement TV/recreation room, making up something tasty in our beautiful kitchen, or just hanging in our living room, enjoying a cozy fire or engaged in a death match of Twister or a philosophical discussion about the true meaning of bologna.
We pride ourselves on being one of the cleanest houses in the ICC. Most of our rooms have original hardwood floors, and we have a large number of single rooms, although new members will probably spend their first year in a double. We have house meetings every two weeks and are one of the few houses to still run on a modified-consensus system for decision making; i.e., for an important house decision to be made, 85 percent of our members must agree. Call to arrange to join us for dinner and get to know the house and its members! Gregory House is a great place to live, filled with great people. It's nice to go home after class and actually have a home to go to.
