Sunwise Co-op
2535 Westernesse Rd, Davis, California,
United States
Sunwise co-op is an eight-bedroom, passive solar house in suburban Davis, California. It belongs to the larger organization of the Solar Community Housing Association. Our house is located on a greenbelt with a large garden, bees, and chickens. The members of our house are both students and professionals (all low income) who share the roles of maintaining the house, working together toward the goal of sustainable/environmentally conscious living, and educating others about cooperative living. We also share vegetarian/vegan meals, chores, toothpaste, and our time. We make consensus-based decisions during house meetings in order to ensure that all members of the household are heard and appreciated. The house welcomes applicants who are open to a diverse household working together to live consciously.
