Stiftelsen Stjärnsund is a center for spiritual development and for bringing a holistic view of life into reality. We who work at the foundation believe that the increasing consciousness of us all will bring new patterns of society, where spiritual values can be integrated with culture and science. Stiftelsen Stjärnsund was founded in 1984, and the initiative to begin was inspired by the Findhorn Foundation in Scotland. The foundation is a nonprofit organization and is completely independent of political and religious organizations. We have no leader, either spiritual or worldly, but all activity occurs in cooperation and through personal responsibility.
Our course center is a large red-painted timber building from the 1890s. There is accommodation for 25 overnight guests. We have two large course rooms, a dining room, a well-equipped kitchen, a library, a meditation room, and a boutique. For those interested in music there is a grand piano.
The foundation also owns five houses, built around 1915, where most of those who work in the foundation live. There are greenhouses and a garden using organic cultivation methods for our own needs.
