Lindsbergs Kursgård
Falun,
Sweden
Lindsberg is an alternative course center situated in a big old house nearby Falun in the middle of Sweden. It was established in the early 1970s and originates from and is inspired by environmental and radical labor movements and solidarity organizations.
The building is from the turn of the century and is placed in a scenic neighborhood. Beautiful nature surrounds Lindsberg; an old oak gives us shelter when the sun is too hot in the summer. A short walk takes us to the lake where a sauna and a rowboat are available.
The course center is managed by a commune (Lindsbergskollektivet) who are trying to live by small resources by eating vegetarian food and growing vegetables and herbs in an ecological and self-sufficient way. Right now we're preparing the garden, planting seeds, and so on. We're also in the middle of restoring the house.
