 Community Living in Central Pennsylvania
Greening Life Community (GLC), a collectively-owned 135 acre farm near Shermans Dale, Perry County, PA has two homes for sale. We are an intentional community of 8 households started in 1972 to foster mutual support and cooperation beyond the borders of the primary family. Homes are privately owned, but all land is collectively owned and managed. Our common values include consensus building, land stewardship, interdependence, and non-violence. Each new member has the opportunity to add their own vision to the mix.
The rolling land holds woodland, fields, pastureland, gardens, small orchard and playground, swimming pool, meditation cabin, large hay barn, and a community chicken flock. Garden space is available for growing organic food and plants. Tractor and basic equipment is shared. Farm work is shared. The community is supported by a maintenance fee which is set yearly. Both homes are cozy 3-bedroom houses in very scenic settings.
