Projekt Eulenspiegel
Wasserburg am Bodensee,
Germany
We are a community that has been living and working together in Wasserburg at the Lake of Constance since 1976. We are running a self-governed and ecologically oriented restaurant. It is our goal to run an ecologically sound business.
We are not guided by a dogma--except that everybody is equal at our place. The means of production are owned by the "Modell Wesserburg." All important decisions are carried by everybody. The daily decisions required in the kitchen and service area are made by some that were selected to do so. They either make these decisions alone or in consultation.
The nonprofit organization Modell Wasserburg is the owner of the building and the legal body responsible for the entire project. This organization also supports the Jedermensch-verlag (our own publishing house) that publishes a quarterly journal-- the _Jdermensch_--and writings of Peter Schilinski, one of the founders of the project. We have a public roundtable discussion every Tuesday at 8 p.m. Apart from that, the Modell Wasserburg Inc. also supports local and not-so-local social and political activities in various ways.
Our project grew out of an anthroposophist orientation, and some of us are still involved in this. We are, however, open to everybody.
We encourage comments from those who have first hand experience with a community so that others may benefit from your experience. More Info on Display Options
Communities can choose one of three options for how reader comments are displayed.
Display all reader comments.
Do not display any reader comments.
Display only comments selected by the community (this is the default value).
Communities may have a variety of reasons for choosing these options so we encourage you to not be quick to judge.
