In Native American mythology, the dolphin represents the combination of heaven and Earth, spirituality and matter, vision and realization. We are already living communally in this sense, with 15 people living in a small communal home and others living within 10 kilometers. In our spiritual diversity, communal singing, eating, hiking, baby-sitting, decision making by consensus, and solving conflicts, we are learning from the experiences of older communities and are passing on our own experiences through the Ökodorf-Institute: consultations, festivals, a mail-order business, and seminars on searching for and founding communities. Regarding service to fellow human beings, at the moment we are supporting the establishment of free schools in Africa. We are friends with several dozen local residents and are in friendly contact with others. South Black Forest considers itself something of a melting pot, since southern and eastern Europeans have been working in the textile industry here for over 150 years. In the long run, we would like to establish a spiritual-ecological village in addition to being integrated into the existing village and region. This new village will probably be close by and will make it easier to become self-sufficient. We would like to build the village together with a regional network of friends of our community. As a first step in this direction, we have established a local labor-exchange system (Wiesentaler instead of Euro), and we will use the Artabana health community instead of health insurance.
We trust that God/inner voice will guide us in deciding what to do next, just as we have been guided so well since 1995. People interested in joining should first send us a page about themselves and their vision. We will then send more information about ourselves as well.
In 2009 we have been searching to buy a farm in Germany or near it with some hectares to plant our own vegetables, etc. We also want to grow our community in such a way that we can help old, dying members to die in a good way, inside our community.
