Australia
As at 24 September 2007, Our ecovillage project is under threat. Unless we can find a "hairy godfather" to pay our ongoing legal bills, we will within the next few weeks be forced into signing away our rights to an ecovillage. After over five years and over one million dollars defending ourselves from lawyers, we have run out of financial and emotional resources. Our dream of intensive, organic, permaculture-guided, autonomous microenterprises, mixed with 70 residences, tourism and intensive farming will be converted to very conventional development.
For the designers, their 30 year dream has turned into a nightmare. For the proprietors, it is heart-breaking. For the 27 sets of potential proprietors, the death of Rosnaeth farm is the shattering of their vision. We hold 27 conditional offers worth %5.5m, making the possible financial rescue very rewarding financially for anyone who can help.
We have tried everything we can to raise finance, to negotiate a settlement that allows the ecovillage to reach its wonderful potential, but have not found enough support.
So we are now throwing our net wider.
If you can help with finance in the very short term, please check out the web-site to satsfy yourself that we are very thoughtful and committed people.
Then contact us as soon as you can, for much much more detail.
Thanks
Warwick Rowell
