| Cooper Street Household is a cooperative intentional household living in a suburban home in Tucson and on a 22-acre "ranch" in an isolated foothills canyon that has limited water. These two settings permit flexibility in responding to differing needs for togetherness.
We have been evolving over the last two years, with some change in membership. We are now five adults living within an organizational structure that is loose. There are few rules, but tolerance for the lifestyles of others is expected. Consensus is used for major decisions such as the acceptance of a new family member.
All members need to be self-supporting financially, as we have yet to establish a community business.
We feel that we can lead a better life together, living in community, than separately. Despite the diversity of our occupations, religious beliefs, cultural backgrounds, and belief systems, we have a common value system related to right treatment of ourselves, right treatment of others, and right treatment of the environment.
Visitors are welcome but should be prepared to camp if facilities are crowded. | Community location is placed at the center of the zip/postal code, city/state, or city/country (not based on street addresses) |
