Ekone Ranch is owned and operated by Sacred Earth Foundation, a community land trust stewarding 1,000+ acres along Rock Creek Canyon in Klickitat County, near Goldendale, Washington. Our mission is to hold SEF land in trust, steward with reverence, and teach sustainable living to children of all ages.

There are currently 6 full time residents on Ekone land, ages ranging from 28-57, and spread between three distinct homesteads. Three reside in the Valley, where most of Ekone’s busy-ness takes place. Two live at the Hacienda, a big ranch house with many out buildings about a mile from the Valley. And one lives just above the valley at Heavenly Heights, the newest homestead in the Ekone fold. Additional accommodations include a sweet cabin in the valley that rents for $500-600/month when available, guest rooms in the Lodge, and accommodations for the rugged in the longhouse/round house. There is a wonderful camp kitchen and bathhouse that get fired up for the summer season, and as appropriate throughout the rest of the year.

Each household at Ekone is an independent unit, responsible for its own feeding, care and finances. We are also a caring community of neighbors and friends who come to each others’ aid. We share community space in the main lodge, open to residents and guests, and share meals roughly once a week. All community members and long-term guests contribute 16 hours/month of service to community and land projects, as determined by the Community Council.

Ekone Ranch community members value land stewardship to protect and work the land in ways that benefit the greater good. Ekone’s community exists to support Sacred Earth Foundation’s mission to hold this land in trust with reverence, and to learn and teach sustainable living to minimize our impact on the land while maximizing our role in manifesting positive world change.

We are looking for people with a love of the land and enthusiasm for rural ranch life. We are seeking fun-loving, down home, wholesome and humble individuals dedicated to personal growth with whom we can share community growing pains and manifest sustainable right livelihood. Carpentry, mechanical, homesteading and farming skills a plus.

Visitor Process: Please email sacredearth (at) ekone.org. We'll begin by corresponding with you to share and learn a little more about each other, and then set up a good time to visit. We have monthly workparties which are a great opportunity to get to know us.
