Plants for a Future is a resource center for rare and unusual plants, particularly those that have edible, medicinal, or other uses. We practice vegan-organic permaculture with emphasis on creating an ecologically sustainable environment and the use of perennial plants.
We have two pieces of land, in Devon and Cornwall, where we demonstrate our agricultural principles and carry out research into interesting plants. We are in the process of constructing an ecovillage.
The project consists of a registered charity and a workers cooperative. Many volunteers also help in the project.
There are still longterm plans to create an ecovillage, but a lot of work with planning permission needs to happen first.
Yes the workers co-op is still going. We are still looking for people who want to join the community at both of our sites. It’s just that we are more focused on the objectives of the community.
