Torus Artist Ecovillage
Outside Colorado Springs, Colorado,
United States
(A soon-to-be-acquired location...)
Torus Artist Ecovillage: A village that will support art, grow organic food, use natural energy... and won't charge its residents a penny.
*
The idea is to create a truly holistic home and creation space to accommodate artists of any form... an ecovillage where we can create, grow, share, and learn... produce fresh food year-round with indoor aquaponics, live efficiently with sustainable technologies, utalise natural energy... and live comfortably without so much dependency on money. All in energy efficient, disaster resistant, dome or torus-shaped homes. A place where artists can just be artists... creatively free...
*
In the beginning, it will be a place where artists can peacefully practice their art whilst being self-reliant... both energy and food can and will be free. In time, it will evolve into an experiential learning environment, where others can come and learn from resident artists and, if they so desire, simultaneously be resident artists themselves. The idea is to offer a choice of freedom from lives that are essentially obsolete, and offer the world another functioning example of a modern sustainable lifestyle that embraces and encourages ingenuity and creativity.
*
Each individual or couple will have their own private residence with a personal greenhouse space. There will also be studio and workshop domes for the various arts... a theatre for performances... a museum to showcase ecovillage art... and even a healing dome with a small pool, sauna, and infirmary… just to name a few.
*
The price of residency will be paid in practical contributions (not money) that help maintain community functionality. Money for things that can’t be produced within the ecovillage can be made through collective artistic expressions, performances, tours, and lessons.
*
The land upon which the ecovillage will reside will be more than just a sanctuary for artists, it will be a sanctuary for local wildlife... a safe haven from hunters, rich with food bearing trees and fresh ponds in their shade. Torus Artist Ecovillage will be sharing the land, not using it.

We think you have have beautiful vision, and it is precisely mine. I believe that the sustainable lifestyle willsatisfy me and that in my liberation I may produce fruitful art and ideas! I believe my duty is just this, for humanity and my family: community of ecofriendly families and artist coming together to grow food, accomplishe projects, live fulfilling productive lives, and adhering to our natural responsiblities to our loved ones. It is a positive mission and it iincludes a traveling show (written created executed etc.), selling all manner of goods produced, and mainly spreading literature on this lifestyle and generating intentional participation of the universes processes. I am inspired by many intellectuals and am open to new ideas. We have full intention of feeding ourselves and as many others possible for free with the fish, herbs, fruits, and vegetables we grow with our aquaponics gardens. Soon we will complete the initial steps here in oklahoma with an end goal in CO too
