A half dozen people have been talking about forming an Eco Village (we have 3 residents currently. What we have agreed upon so far is that we want to live with others who have a healthy respect for the Earth and who embody characteristics like Kindness, Work ethic, Good communication skills and a desire to live co-operatively. Room for Rent at Farm Community located in Fair Play, CA (near Placerville/Somerset)
Yes! That's right! The $500/mo includes utilities and 3 meals per day (self serve breakfast and lunch and communal dinners) for one person.
2 week trial period. $500 moves you in ($300 is refundable and $200 is non-refundable if trial period fails)
Children and/or partner rates negotiable.

No additional storage to begin with (negotiable later)
No smoking (no negotiations on this point)
We are a small farm located on the Cosumnes River in the Somerset/Omo Ranch wine country area (about 40 minutes outside of Placerville).
We have been practicing farming for 5 years and are now in the beginning stages of developing intentional community (living communally with intention and with privacy features).
We currently have 1 owner-full-time-resident, and 2 paying farm interns being considered for residency. We have 4 climate controlled sleeping rooms open.
In the Spring/Summer/Fall we are a teaching farm and we host a limited number of individuals from all over the world (volunteer exchanges and work trade stays).
We have decided to make winter our time for focusing on cultivating longer term residents.
We all pitch in with farm chores on top of our income-earning jobs.
We practice non-violent communication, and we meet/share as a community weekly.
We carpool whenever possible. We go to Placerville at least 2 times per week and we often visit the following areas: Elk Grove/Sacramento/Georgetown/Auburn.
We work with goats, chickens, blueberries, olives, apples, persimmons, asparagus, other vegetable gardens, earth building projects, music festivals, laughter retreats, and a myriad of events within our greater community.
This is a non-smoking farm.
