Nandu Ecovillage
Rocha,
Uruguay
(We do not yet have a physical location but it will be in Uruguay)
We are creating a community with three specific objectives in mind. Firstly to achieve a high level of self reliance using a sound understanding of Ecology, Permaculture, Bio Dynamics and Organic Farming principles.Secondly we will provide ecologically sound consultation and design sevices to expand sustainable land use. Thirdly the community will be a place of education to equip people with the necessary skills to expand the priciples of self reliance for the transition to a more sustainable future.
To achieve this vision we are looking for people who have experience in Ecology,Permaculture,Bio Dynamics, Organic Farming, Bio Construction or other similiar areas of expertise.
The vision of self reliance, education and services will be sought through taking the best from that mentioned above, free thinking and experimentation. It will also be important that you have a keen interest in educating others in an environment or style that suits you.
We also have very strong feelings about the education of children. We do not believe government schools provide nearly enough to open the minds of young people and only provide environments for segregation, the crushing of individual spirit, and the removal of curiosity. We believe children have an emense capacity to learn, to concentrate and work hard. For these reasons nandu will be a community that will centralise itself around what is best for its children and young people. This means everyone will be involved in the education of our children in real work, real adventures, real charity and a good deal of time in community persuits. A long term goal will also to be to provide an alternative education schooling system within the community or within a local community
