l'AgorA
Saint-Fortunat, Quebec,
Canada
In ancient Greece, the agora was an open "place of assembly".
The Agora also served as a marketplace where merchants kept stalls or shops to sell their goods amid colonnades. From this twin function of the Agora as a political and commercial space came the two Greek verbs αγοράζω, agorázō, "I shop", and αγορεύω, agoreýō, "I speak in public".
The word agoraphobia, the fear of critical public situations, derives from Agora in its meaning as a gathering place.
The Forum was the Roman equivalent of the Agora and the word is often used in older texts to refer to Greek agorai (plural of Agora)
What happens at l'AgorA is an out of time inspiration. Everything that are here are meant to re-educate ourselves into spontaneous creativity, our natural talents, our intuition.
We have a very large camping site with wi-fi on 40 acres for information/communication with projects or a random question, a teepee, tree houses, little dj booth on a tiny island in the forest, a yourte (mongolian tent), a barn for rainy days, a hiking trail with a lookout over 200 kms around and the AgorA bunker where we can have 100 people with an elementary comfort but cared for the details as most of everything here is recycled, given a second life with a little thinking. ;)
L'AgorA is always welcoming people with nature oriented projects
and people who would like to spend a season here or more
agricultural - scientific - simple science - eco-constructions for living even - musical talents - theatre, etc., etc.
Past events at the Agora:
Earthdance Festivals 2011 - 2010
Tatanka Festival 2011
Sundari Festival 2011
If ever a quiet camping or a social activity might interests you, rates will be fixed at two different prices, prices for those with members who contributes financially and one rate for whom do not contribute financially.
This text is spontaneously sketched so I will make it clear whenever it is appropriate.
