Seven Acres Cooperative
Soquel Hills, Santa Cruz, California,
United States
Seven Acres Cooperative is eleven individuals working to form an community tending towards ecological sustainabiltiy and self-sufficiency in the Santa Cruz hills. The property is surrounded by beautiful coastal forest, but enjoys full sunny days under the open sky. In addition to people, Seven Acres hosts a variety of animals 20 laying hens, 6 laying ducks, 2 dogs, three cat, redtail hawks, lizards, other occasional guests of the wild persuasion, and soon to be joined by 3 dairy goats. We are excited about setting up our gardens, hillside orchard, and sustainable infrastructure.
We’re also super excited for the initial stages Seven Acres. We cook five meals a week for each other, share workshift, and favor open communication. We believe that structure and protocol can be extremely helpful in creating a safe and empowering space for all members to take part in, shaping their experience at Seven Acres.
