Tree of Life (TOL) is a eco-community for connecting people, nature and spiritual practice through the cooperative development and management of a self-sufficient intentional community.
The Tree of Life is the inspiration of Ian Goudie and Meranda Squires.
Our Mission includes construction of a retreat space using a design of sacred geometry (Tree of Life or Kabbalah), alternative energy, organic gardening and a co-operative of like-minded people.
Our Vision is to establish an off the grid, self-sustainable community on the original 5 acre parcel of land with future plans to expand in size. People are welcome to participate in our community to experience a sense of place. The longer term vision includes creation of a sacred space to host nature, art and spiritual retreats.
Activiites currently include: volunteer day programs, part time and full time memberships, green workshops, seasonal work opportunities, becoming a leader in a green task, international visitor programs, artist in residence, nature experiences, spiritual retreats, being a cook, gardening and more.
At the Tree of Life community members are invited to contribute by participating now in tasks, and chores performed in a state of contemplation that further the development of this sacred space, while banking those contributions for continued future participation in the Centre's activities. Some members may wish to explore direct investment opportunities. People spend a day or more in Salmonier working directly with Mother Nature. These working hours are banked toward any future activities with the Tree of life Retreat or The Lotus Centre.
Potlucks, car-pooling, and fire circle sing-a-longs are just part of our offerings on these connections with nature!
Our organized carpooling Nature Days weekends are every weekend.
