Australia

Goolawah co-op is a low cost rural land sharing co-operative situated at Crescent Head in NSW Australia. We have 1600 acres of land bordering wilderness area, 4 km from the coast with 78 house sites separated into 3 different areas. We have 3 towns within 45 minuets drive, the beach is accessed via a walking track through the wilderness area or a 20 minute drive to town.
We are 10 years old with 40 people living on the land full time at October 2010. We are free to build as we like on our own 1.2 acre site and are planning to build a bigger community center in the near future.
We all live off grid, solar for power, composting toilets, rain and dam water with many members maintaining permaculture designed gardens and orchids.
We can be found on www.helpx.net if you want to stay in exchange for work, we encourage day trip visitors and are actively looking for mentally stable, functioning, financially interdependent, inspiring new members who want to help us create the best community ever!
Status: alive and well open to new members
