TriAngles ECOmmUNITY
Tweed Valley, NSW,
Australia
Homestead + Panoramic Views over Mt. Warning NP and Border Ranges NP...
A stunningly beautiful 103-acre Estate, surrounded by National Parks, overlooking the entire Caldera of the fertile Tweed Valley in Northern NSW Australia. We are looking for new members to help set up a community within the next few months (Aug - Nov 2011).
CO-CREATING COMMUNITY
The future of Humanity and our World may well depend on the formation of relatively small communities, based on a closer interaction with each other and the environment -- a reconnection to Nature. It is the evolution of Mankind. And isn’t this current downward spiraling economy in fact a great opportunity to re-view our ways of living ... and to take Action.
There are a number of very inspiring intentional communities around the world and these are huge footsteps to fill -- but it’s important to not just dream, but make a start.
I would love to share the property of which I’ve had the privilege to be a custodian for over a decade -- and invite like-minded people to live here and grow together towards a more sustainable and self-sufficient future. Like to join in that View?
SETTING
The homestead is surrounded by beautiful mature gardens, walkways and intimate open area’s bordered by bushland -- and is nestled on the slopes rising up to the Nightcap Ranges NP. This 103-acre estate is an enjoyable tranquil eden amidst gentle wildlife, birdsongs, magnificent mountain backdrops and views ; majestic panoramas over the Tweed Valley that feel like part of the land. Clusters of homes could be build on sites that are geologically divided and already planted out for privacy, whilst preserving views. The estate has the most ideal aspect of Mt. Warning NP to the North, and elevated vistas over a total of 6 World Heritage listed National Parks. Three creeks run through the property, bordered by regenerating rainforest and with permanent crystal clear springs. Visit the website for more detailed info.
CO-CREATION
With an abundance of natural beauty, the fertile Green Cauldron of Australia provides for a multitude of on-site income earning options : to grow most of our own food, selling our own value-added produce (commercial kitchen) and spring-water, to run a world-class eco-tourist business, create a healing resort, or even establish an income producing timber plantation and carpentry. We’re in a triangle of towns with farmers markets and arts & craft markets galore -- with local shops and cafe at only 4 minutes and Murwillumbah CBD at 30 min. And there’s always the internet. What better place to work from home.
To limit our carbon footprint by taking recycling to the next level and generate a small-scale eco-system, will take time ... but thankfully there are inspiring examples of communities that have actually succeeded; so lets follow in their footsteps.
VIEWS AND VISION
Each resident household will have their own private home-site, with stunning views, as well as a share in the existing common house, land and infrastructure. There are 4 to 5 bedrooms for accommodation whilst building, which at a later stage could be used as an income producing B&B -- ideally with an inspiring educative aspect, giving guests an experience to take home. In essence, we will aim to live as organically as possible, and build green and with pure aesthetics.
The vision is to expand upon a sound ecological infrastructure already in place, and create an evolving creative, spiritual, sharing and supportive community which allows for privacy. Making a tree-change and living in isolation isn’t the answer to todays challenges ... but the C-change is: Community, Co-operation and Co-Creation.
ACTION
And this can be a lavish lifestyle, as well as a heritage for next generations. Working together will make a difference. If we join effort, heart, skills and knowledge, and are concerned only to tread lightly on mother earth ... arising from the awareness of our impact and interconnectedness ... we can move proverbial mountains.
However, the clock is ticking as far as this property is concerned, as it is also on the market to be sold freehold. As with all things that have a certain ideal timeframe to be sown in ... the window of opportunity is NOW.
So if all this resonates with you, please don’t hesitate to make contact now !!

Visitors Accepted
Visitor Process: INTERESTED IN HAVING A SHARE ? To form a self-sustainable community on this beautiful piece of paradise, the involvement of an essential core-group of 6-12 people will be required to make a start. As soon as each resident has paid for their share, the estate will be transferred in the name of a trust or company (Community Land Trust or Company Title), of which the core-group will become the trustees, as well as beneficiaries. Several options are available for a sound legal structure; which one is chosen will depend for a large part on what the group will prefer. We will then proceed to either obtain Multiple Occupancy (MO) status, or explore other options available. Shares will include all of the above common assets (shared facilities) and infrastructure, plus a private home site : varying from AUD$95,000 for a 80 m2-house allotment, to AUD$150,000 for a larger site, suitable for up to 200 m2 if needed. Each building spot will have a large garden area, with privacy and viewing-lines preserved. We will start co-housing style, with 4 bedrooms in the common house and 1 in the study, and plenty of possibilities for glamping (glamorous-camping ; google for beautiful examples) while making plans for the future. The aim is to become largely debt free and not-for-profit, but rather create a sustainably comfortable and financially independent life-style. Wherever possible, we will assist residents to become debt free. Unfortunately, we are not in a position to make it any cheaper unless more people would get involved. So if you have family or friends with whom you would like to build a co-house on one of the larger blocks, you can reduce the initial cost accordingly. It is also possible to team-up people who cannot afford to buy a whole share. Please email for more information. This is an opportunity to be a fellow-custodian of a stunning lifestyle-property that would normally be out of reach for most (valued at around 1.5 Million). MORE INFORMATION ? Visit the website ... then send an email to above address, introducing yourself with as many details as possible and clarity about your financial position. I will handle each contact confidentially and write you a proper email in return, answering everything you would like to know. Visits and inspections are by appointment only. WWOOFing is an option.
