McKenzie Green Commons
Bellingham, Washington,
United States
 3/22/13
McKenzie Green Commons will be a collaborative community of active seniors (55+)--a two block walk to the historic commercial district of Fairhaven, in Bellingham, Washington, USA
All necessary city requirements have been met, and a builder selected. When completed there will be twelve homes. Current membership consists of six households plus two pending. Several home sites are presently available. Construction will begin when there are ten committed households. Our builder will be Aiki Homes Inc. who specializes and has extensive experience in green, low impact, energy efficient homes.
Homes are expected to range from $3-400,000, depending on size and the choices a homeowner makes. There will be regular association dues to cover taxes, insurance, maintenance, and utilities.
McKenzie Green will consist of four relatively small homes and four duplexes. In addition there will be a separate social hall with library and kitchen, and a community vegetable garden and shared tool shed. An area exterior to each home, as designated by the development plan, will be for each home owner’s private use.
Homes will be owner occupied, and each owner will be expected to participate in the Homeowners Association. In order to include pets and respect other residents, only indoor pets will be allowed. An on leash rule will apply when on site. McKenzie Green Commons will be a smoking and a fragrance free area. CC&Rs, by-laws, and condominium rules are available upon request.
