In our process of beginning a Senior Cohousing community in Ashland, Oregon, we've developed close social bonds in refining our vision statement, creating an operating agreement, and studying the potentials of various specific properties. We welcome the participation of those who are interested in a cohousing community of active seniors (55+) in a culturally vibrant locale with year-round recreational attractions.
Home of the nationally renowned Oregon Shakespeare Festival and Southern Oregon University, Ashland is located in the scenic Rogue Valley of southern Oregon. We have a temperate climate (less than half the rain of Portland or Eugene, for example), with abundant recreational, educational and social activities.
In our first year, we got together for a potluck and business meeting at least a couple of times each month, sharing our learning together, making choices about our future home, and deepening our friendships. Our meetings have gone on hiatus since fall, when a prospective land purchase failed. Maybe warmer weather -- or your new input -- will stimulate renewed focus!
Join us soon to take an active part in our planning!
