We are a group committed to consensus decision-making, non-violent communication and conflict resolution, using permaculture principles in the designs for our site and homes, and welcoming diversity in our community. We are joining together to create a group of people that know each other well and can make decisions cooperatively as we move into the next phases of community design, land purchase, and construction.
We are individuals and families working together cooperatively and making decisions by consensus in order to design and build a neighborhood that promotes social interaction and sharing of resources. We've made an important choice to live within walking distance of the center of Viroqua, Wisconsin.
Viroqua is the Vernon County seat, a livable town of 4,500 with a thriving food co-op in one of the most concentrated areas of organic farms in the country. Viroqua is also in the heart of the beautiful driftless area of SW Wisconsin with its steep ridges and fertile valleys; cold, clean spring creeks; abundant wildlife; and tall bluffs overlooking the Mississippi river.
