40 Acre Ranch Property approximately 30 miles E-SE of Colorado Springs. Land is completely owned with no outstanding debt.
On the property is currently two trailers, one being used for residential and another being used for storage, but can be fixed up and also used for residential. We literally have a 1/2 mile of property to work with here.
Property is currently off the grid, generating power through solar panels, wind generators, and a backup gas generator. On-the-grid power is available, approx 1500 feet away.
Propane is used for cooking, heating, and refrigeration. Eventually, we hope to pull off the propane as well.
This property is available for community minded individuals who hold to moderate morals.
We are a Christian family who believe that Christians are under the obligation to help other Christians, thus the purpose of our opening our home and property to this purpose. No Christian should ever go homeless.
While the community is not strictly a Christian community, we do believe that those intolerant to Christians would likely not have a comfortable setting here. The word of God is openly accepted, referenced, and spoken here.
Decent morals are important here, there is no tolerance of smoking, drinking, drugs, swearing, or even the use of totally immoral wearing of clothing. You are not expected to be perfect, just on acceptable behavior.
This community is opened with the idea of, "Why are we all paying half of our wages to the rich man in the form of rent?" Our philosophy is to take that same money, put it into a community, vote on its use, and help one another.
Our idea is a simple one. We can make life better for ourselves working together and helping each other. Let's put our labor, time, and money to work making a better place for us all to live together as a whole.
Eventual plans hope to have a communal center where meals, cooking, living, etc. can take place while each person has their living quarters elsewhere on the property.
