Dear possible visitors to Earthnest ...

I am trying to start a new age community with 16 acres and a house and poor hilly land. I live in Cumberland County about 60 miles from Richmond VA. The nearest small town is Farmville, seven miles away, which probably has few jobs available. The property will remain mine until I feel I have the right people I can entrust it to. My solution at the moment is to give people cheap rent and if they produce a good amount of food then a lot less or no rent. In time I hope to make this a communally-owned piece of land owned in common with all the helpful people that live here in peace.

Overly vertical/competitive patriarchy empowers thugs and/or makes people into them when they climb the ladder of power. In a community one has the opposite problem. Ayn Rand tells us that forced communism in Russia gave the lazy a free ride. The trick is to form a union where neither the too-aggressive nor the too-lazy are hurting the system. So I am not just handing over the land to anyone, even as communally-owned. Do not come here unless you love EARTH and love to work for her and with her and with others in cooperation and peace.

I am going to try and start a meditation group. I want the focus of this community to be spiritual first but not religious.

We are on board for the changing of an age. As the old paradigm falls apart we will invent a new one. It will necessarily be more holistic alive involved and evolved. I believe that many new age communities will form and that each will try to become a new earth. Each will try for the best possible balance of the mineral plant animal and human existence given the nature of their members and locations and other factors we can only guess at. That will be the new ecology. Each community will become a unique spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical hologram of the planet and as each of these unique communities create between them a shared culture that culture will be alive on a far grander scale than what we have now or Punch Press America spreading like a cancer everywhere.

I believe that human-plus creatures will evolve that will together form a new planetary consciousness. We humans will be alive as neurons of Mother Earth who are together her planet brain.
