Update: We have put the formation of this community on hold, hopefully only temporarily, some of our members are involved with other things at present (I myself am working with Occupy Toronto, and it is taking up all my time). We would eventually like to have this happen again, mostlikly in the fall. Thanks for your interest and support.

We are looking for comrades who are interested in alternative earth-based living, self-sustainability and most importantly people who want to be involved in the grass roots creation of an intentional community.

We are currently a small group; our members are currently living and working mostly in the GTA. We are in the preliminary stages of the planning/creation of a commune and the purchase of a farm property in central Ontario.

Individuals in our group are all here for different reasons, but we have common goals. Our goal right now is to have a creative and supportive atmosphere where everyone's voice is heard and we reach consensus before decisions are made.

We want to purchase a farm to form our commune on in rural Ontario. Our objectives include living off the grid, growing our own food; raising our own livestock, collectively pursuing our passions; sharing our successes and failures, and sharing skills as we go.

All of this done as individuals working, living and growing together.

Our community does not discriminate in regards to housing based on race/color, national origin, religion, sex/gender, family status (i.e. having children, not having children, or being pregnant), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, ancestry, source of income, age, creed, personal appearance, political affiliation, HIV infection, military/veteran status, unfavorable military discharge, gender identity or expression, receiving public assistance, or being the victim of domestic abuse.

Population Open to new members: Yes (We are currently looking for about 8 or so new members to help us take on the purchase of a communal farm.)	Government Decision Making: By consensus (or direct democracy depending on the situation.) Identified Leader: No Leadership Core Group: No (However, our three most active members could be seen that way.)	Labor and Money Financial Style: Partial income sharing (The mortgage will be payed like rent until a land trust can be formed.) Open to Members with Pre-existing Debt: Yes (Your debts are your own however, and not the burden of the rest of the group... unless we take it on in complete consensus.) Labor Contribution: Expected (work and profit is shared equally.) Join Fee: No Regular Fees: Yes (the mortgage is payed like rent; however, extenuating circumstances will be treated on a sliding scale.)
Land and Buildings Rural (Urban currently rural later.) Land Owned By: Other (This is in discussion.)	Food, etc. Percentage of Food Grown: (One of our big goals is to grow 100%) Share Community Meals: (At least one a day.) Dietary Choice or Restrictions: Diet is up to each individual Dietary Practice: Omnivorous (That can change depending on the needs of the community.) Alcohol Use: Used occasionally Tobacco Use: Used Occasionally (Never inside.)	Social Factors Common Spiritual Practices: No Which Spiritual Traditions(s): Eclectic (integrates pieces from many religions) (There are very spiritual people from different paths among us.) Educational Style(s): Other (We would like to establish homeschooling eventually.)
