We are currently 3 queer identified women residents, plus a family of three part time residents, living on 46 gorgeous, partly wooded acres not far from the scenic Rogue River north of Grants Pass/Ashland Oregon. We have a small organic garden for household consumption, some fruit trees, cob greenhouse and artists studios. We are artists, musicians, farmers, natural builders interested in sustainability, community, activism, permaculture and good times. We brew beer, and other fermented goodies, wildcraft blackberries, mushrooms herbs and hazelnuts, and love to eat good food. Fair Warning: at Gypsy Café we work laugh drink smoke and carouse, play lots of music, and occasionally howl at the moon.

Our livestock consists of a flock of 13 chickens, primarily raised for eggs.

Currently all residents work from home. We produce and ship We'Moon from our home office.

We host sunnytime volunteers and visitors during the months of April through September, and we are seeking new members. We encourage folks who may be interested in joining our ecovillage to visit during the sunny times of the year for an initial introductory stay of two weeks, after which longer stays can be negotiated. We ask all visitors to donate $3 per day to offset extra food casts, and for those who plan on staying for more than a day or two to participate in activities and work on the land for an average of 4 hours per day, fluctuating with the season and current activities.

We have 3 small dogs and 4 cats on the land, and we ask visitors to leave their pets at home.

Projects we are involved in include finishing a cob studio, plastering light-clay-straw pottery studio, finishing a small pond, rebuilding the party deck, creating a cob oven, building maintainance, gardening and landscaping, tree planting.

Visitors Accepted

Visitor Process: Please email us to set up a visit. We welcome visitors from April through the end of September for up to two weeks initial visit. Longer stays are are negotiable if we are a good social fit. Please do not bring pets during your visit. During the warmer months, we ask visitors to camp. In cool and rainy weather, we have some indoor spaces available. We also ask for a donation of $3 per day to offset grocery costs and a labor exchange of about 4 hours per day, depending on the season and current activities.
