Tasman Village
Nubeena, Tasmania,
Australia
The Tasman Village is a cohousing/ecovillage being developed on 23 acres on the Tasman Peninsula in Tasmania. Affordable, sustainable, housing is planned for the 65 lots surrounding an existing holiday complex with community facilities; community kitchen, dining, pool, spa, workshop space etc. The project is a strata title scheme. Individuals own their small lots, sufficient to build a home, and the balance of the land is common property for food production and recreation. Land and apartments are available for purchase. A working holiday program, similar to wwoofing/helpx was established in January 2010. Up to 14 helpers can be accommodated at any one time. The existing accommodation provides the opportunity for those interested in the community to stay for extended periods and experience and contribute to what is here.
