A Community of Keepers of the Golden Rule
Rancho Cordova, California,
United States
(Property is located 3 hours north of Sacramento CA)
Forming a Village of tipi's, domes, Travel trailers, etc. and seeking partners with positive attitudes, good communication skills, enthusiasm, creativity and experience in skills such as: primitive living, gardening, gold panning, beekeeping, cooking, mechanical, hunting, fishing, carpentry, healing, sewing, home-schooling, renewable energy to make this a sustainable and fun place to live and learn. Vegetarians and Vegans, Non-smoking, non-drinking. prop.215 ok for medical or religious reasons. The focus again is on healthy sustainable living for both the Village and Mother Earth. Living simply, leaving as light a footprint as possible. We will "be the change we want to see".
Our goals are to form a fully self-sustainable off-grid primitive intentional community on the foundation of "the Golden Rule"...and it is located on a 160 acre mining claim.
Brotherhood, wellbeing and resourcefulness focused on living in low impact moveable dwellings or Pod(Personal Outdoor Dwelling) recognizing ourselves as an integral part of our environment and our effect upon it.
We will use the talking circle for collective communication and decision making and share most meals, Our free-ranging children will move through the woods on winding paths. Much of their learning and understanding will come from all that this lifestyle offers and by the collective and individual knowledge that is passed on. We will "circle the wagons" and provide each other the neighborly protection and care that we all deserve.
Being with the elements, fetching water that is given from the springs and the creeks that we have running through the property, gathering firewood on foot with a bow saw from the surrounding trees.
A gourmet meal cooked over an open fire, bathing in spring water that is warmed by the sun or fire, gathering the surrounding plants to make a salad, or medicine, the personal growth that comes from the willingness to live and work together in community, the creative potential that can manifest from the coming together of people and the fewer distractions that the industrialized world demands.
Great potential exists here, the potential that lies in simplicity. It is what we bring to the community that forms it.
Our core group seeks to live and work in a way that integrates spiritual teachings with a focus on compassion and self-reflection as taught in Tibetan and Zen Buddhism, Christian and Jewish, Mysticism, and Native American Traditions.
Because of zoning laws, we are not allowed to build any other permanent structures
In all ages,in all lands, there have been those who seek truth. This seeking is an individual's search for something more than self, and much more than the confines of this worldly system. It is the seeker, who understands there is more than what meets the eye, who is not afraid and makes the choice to go into the unknown. The process of awaking has begun, the discovery is underway.
