Purpose: To create an intentional community, separate from hyper consumerism, working together to meet the needs of the group to live in harmony with each other and nature in self-sufficient sustainability.
We believe that the most ecologically friendly way to be is to reuse and recycle. (And NOT to destroy our natural terriories with new constructions). To this effect we propose to begin to build our group from our home, we can house one or two other small families, we own a converted duplex. Our house is in an ecomonically repressed area surrounded by vast forest, but with amenities like internet access, and a public school. (although we favor home-schooling). And the town has plenty of other vacant buildings cheap, for those who want their own personal space. Our idea is to bring as many people as possible into the community with commitment to cooperation and ecological living. People who want to trade shopping malls for famiy time and hobbies (like gardening, canning, sewing, knitting etc).
We need to come together to discuss our skills, our ressources, our expectations, and propose concrete objectives and implementations. The idea is to limit expenses as much as possible (ie: Taxes) so that we can live in self-sustained peace without getting caught up in the rat race.
A community garden or green-house is also a priority. We are open to everyone...trades people, internet based businesses, artistans, those with a simple fixed income (retired or handicap) who feel they have something to contribute to the group. It's not important that you have alot of money, but a little definately helps, what is important is you are ready to work. To work towards making this dream a reality.
Our idealogies are a mix of pioneering & a hippie commun. We're not afraid to reduce reliances on modern technologies (save for green energy soutions)and we are ready to share everything that we have with the group. (and of course expect the same). As far as finances go, we will have both collective and individual projets to raise funds needed to cover costs, this money will be pooled as equivably as possible. So that contributions are balanced be they be completely financial or based on communal labour from which everyone profits.
