Fairview House
berkeley, California,
United States
We are organized as a limited equity coop in a single room occupancy configuration with shared living space and a shared kitchen.
We are a friendly community of ten including artists, activists, techies, outdoorsy people, various holistic health workers, and a toddler.
We reside in a beautiful 5-bedroom (+attic) Victorian home and a duplex house across the way. The bedrooms in the Victorian are sunny and spacious. The office is an attic room with great natural light.
We have a newly remodeled kitchen, hardwood floors, gardens, movement space, instruments, gardens, laundry, bike storage, high speed wireless internet, a guest room for use by visiting family and friends, and a number of common spaces. We are also just four blocks from public transit which takes you into SF (BART).
Living in this cooperative community includes cooking for the house every other week, various household chores, grocery shopping once a month, and house meetings on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of every month.
Carrying Charge is $445 including utilities. Food is $230 and includes a Riverdog Farm CSA box, organic groceries, and toiletries. One time Buy In Share of $2000 (refundable upon moving out like a deposit).
