Primitive Ways Ecovillage
California,
United States
(Still looking for land would like it to be in northern california, but willing to go where donated land may be.)
As a young boy I visited an old miwok village on a field trip in Novato ca. That trip to that village would always change the way I see the world. It made our world seem so complicated and full of unnessisary things.
So here I am 20 years later, ready to change my life. I quit my jobs sold everything I can't fit in my backpack.
On may 5th last year (2010) I hit the road in search of a place to start my primitive life.
I have been living the last 11 months on the road, doing what i can to live off the land or with the land. Harvesting wild edible plants, mushrooms & herbs, fishing & hunting small game.
Here is a small list from last year dandelion, wild onion, wild garlic, wild carrot, Yampa, False Salomon's Seal berry, serviceberry, elder berry, black berry, thimble berry, Currant berry wild strawberry, goose berry, hazel nut, mushrooms:  white matsutake , morels, shaggy manes, scaly Chantalles , medicinal: saint john wart, mullein, willow bark, Yarrow
I lived in the Shasta-Trinity National forest for 7 months this past year, and planning to go back this spring soon as the snow melts a bit. Last year I made it to Shasta on may 5th with little snow still on the ground.
I'm looking for people that want to join me in this adventure
Our main focus will be lowering our carbon footprint and becoming a self sustaining community. We will achieve our goal through green energy, sustainable organic farming practices (permaculture)and by building low environmental impact housing such as cob, eco-domes (by calearth.org), and primitive structures like tepees.
Co-Creators Wanted:
