Atlanta Sustainable Community
Marietta, Georgia,
United States
Come join us for a monthly meeting!
Our community's mission is to network with others to build community right where we live.
As the future of the economy is uncertain, community is crucial for sustainability and a greater quality of life.
Successful sustainable communities include people who live within a short distance of each other and can trade/compliment each other with things each of us need to live comfortably when the economy gets challenging.
Our community looks similar to the ones in our recent past history. This is a community where people live in their own homes but know many of their neighbors and communicate with each other on regular basis.
Everyone lives independently in their own homes and lives their own way of life but yet there is a community connection that improves quality of life by sharing and helping each other to improve the overall quality of life in the community.
This community is based in East Cobb but it is open to other areas outside of East Cobb as well.
Virtually anyone with a concern for the future of our economy who would like to attend regular monthly meetings to brainstorm and discuss solution-based, positive forms of sustaining ourselve no matter what the economy looks like. This is a positive, innovative, solution-based meeting.
Topics include (but are not limited to) gardening, canning, storing, foraging, farm animals, protection, bartering, alternative energy and water sources.
For meeting logistics, go to www.meetup.com and look up East Cobb Sustainable Community in the Marietta, GA zip code
