Shepherd
Shepherdsfield Community is a Christian fellowship (an intentional Christian community) which seeks to live as the Early Christians did and as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. This "Apostolic Christianity" included "Sharing all things in common." We have accepted Jesus Christ as the Way, the Truth and the Life. Through Him we have found answers to the many questions that arise in trying to live together and reaching out to others.
We are located in a farming area outside the city of Fulton, Missouri, and within driving distance of Columbia and Jefferson City, Missouri.
We earn our living through a window washing and power washing company, deck restoration, painting, carpentry, and several small cottage industries.
We operate our own school for all our children and take the task of raising children in an environment of "purity and childlikeness," along with the preservation of the family unit, seriously.
Our desire has been to show others that Christianity is not limited to the institutional forms that have so disenchanted many people and led them to reject the claims of Jesus of Nazareth, our Lord and Savior. We have a literature mission ministry, including printing and publishing, that reaches various parts of the world in studies of Scripture and principles of Life.
We would not want to mislead anyone by claiming our life is a "Utopia" that requires little or no effort from the individual. Quite the contrary; true peace and brotherhood can only be accomplished when the utmost of diligence is applied to live out and promote the things that lead to peace and unity. That requires struggle in order for the goodness of God to be "fleshed out" in us. However, we find great joy in living for Him in the present and seeing ourselves and others changed from day to day.
Thank you for your interest.
