Painted Sands Farm is a Conscious Living Center now forming under Gadrian, a npc celebrating the diversity of beauty, truth and spirit in all living forms, dedicated to preserving that diversity from the past, in the present, to the future, for the community.
Our purpose is to educate and preserve in 1)fine arts & crafts, 2) earth's natural environment & biodiversity, 3)sustainable agriculture, 4) building & living entities & practices, 5)historic places, structures, documents & genetics.
Gadrian's Character of Affairs is establishing, promoting & supporting Conscious Living Centers which will educate, exemplify and empower communities towards rural regeneration, & which will encompass related workshops, conferences, field days, classes, celebrations and communications.
Painted Sands Farm is composed of 80 acres ( with hopefully more to be added) of beautiful Arizona high desert land; some historic livestock is in residence with more rare breeds to be added. Sustainable building from on site materials and techniques has already begun. Settlers interested in becoming part of the community organization may develop their own home-sites and dwellings. We are currently in the process of organizing beginners natural building workshops and Dairy goat husbandry for 2012

My wife and I moved here in November 2011, First off I would like to say that this place had more to offer then I thought. Although, it was very at a standstill when we arrived here there where many opportunities and venues for them here. Now things have been moving along and things seem like we have found our home. We cannot wait for the kidding season and the gatherings/workshops that we have been planning. This is a great place to learn how to live of the land. One of the major things it has to offer is knowledge of how to make crafts and useful ones at that along with art. The founder here has a great knowledge of art and its appreciation something that was a nice surprise. Just needs more people and facilities to share them with the public. In the three months we have been here this place has evolved and the wheels are turning, but still needs more to keep it rolling and make it a success. We are looking forward to the future here and what it will have in store for us.

June is a wonderfully wise and spirited pioneer! She has lived quite and interesting life and has gained quite a bit of knowledge along the way! You can read a bit of her bio on her website listed above. I have been very grateful for the chance to share her dream of living close to the Earth and for all the wonderful opportunities for learning and growth that I've received while living at Painted Sands. I was really surprised at how much was actually already there when I got here 4 months ago back in July. It really is a pristine place, very secluded among the foothills of the white mountains. As it has always been a dream of mine to live a pioneer lifestyle and doing my part in persevering the Earth and her wildlife while being in touch with like-minded people. It has been a great time so far with June and I and we're looking forward to expanding our venture next spring! Let us know if you feel the same -Clark
