BIG NEWS for 2012, the owners of witches Rock Surf Camp in Tamarindo CR have leased the Hotel, Bar and Restaurant that JP ran for18 years. So while Tilawa is gone, the operation Volcano Brewing is now better than ever and being run by a staff and new residents. The new owners, Joe and Holly are a North American couple with children living in Costa Rica for over twelve years. They know the value of being green and have been consistently as organic as possible since arriving here from California in a converted school bus, and have maintained that green effort, while building and operating one of the busiest surf camps in the world.
Jp and Joe have plans get the Witches Rock Bio Diesel plant back up and running at the VB hotel for transportation and brewing beer. While b-green is a separate physical farm and home development from the hotel property and to individually and together continue to make the area, our community and businesses green.
So who are we at b-green, well we are some of the many people of good will who want to do better for the environment and who envision living a man-built world leaning towards balance with the natural world. Our community is one where we humans continue to reign supreme in nature, where continual advancement in quality-of-life and daily convenience remains, a matter of fact.
+ Open door for those that want to work yet have little to spend, We are a mixed community some with little and some with a lot, work and no money or some combination there of.
Note please don’t come to Costa Rica if you don’t have the $15 per day you need to live here, even less so if bringing children, trust us you do not want to be in Central America, with no money. We have had several people who have come with no ability to support themselves, and it was sad and expensive for us to help them on there way and given the duration of the economic/ jobs difficulty’s is no longer feasible for the founders to carry anyone nor necessary, we have time to help those that help themselves and who like us can contribute towards our community while maintaining individual needs.

Hola prospective b-green.org / hotel-tilawa.com visitors and community members - Pura Vida.

I arrived early August 2011 and am having the time of my life. This week I begin building housing for our resident chickens, all hens laying swell eggs now, and will purchase more poultry soon to supply meat and more eggs (chickens, guineas, turkeys, ducks). As a veteran property caretaker I can attest that b-green.org is what it says and is only getting better. This intentional community is at the top of my list for sustainable intent and practices.

Check us out, give us a call, come visit, and be prepared for the experience of your life in our gardens, at the lake, in the mountains... bring your warm weather clothes! :-)

I have plenty of first-hand experience with this hotel/community. Growing food and putting it on the plate is what I do here. I enjoy the challenge of sustainable living here. We've come a long way in the time I've been here and plan to keep upping the ante. Using grain crops such as Amaranth and Sorghum to brew beer is one project going that excites me a bunch lately. My dream of having perennial chile plants has been accomplished. I have a surplus of super hot chile sauce and many young and established plants.
I'm constantly brainstorming of ways to improve our way of life by sustainable simplification. Food quality is of high importance here. It's becoming very expensive. Nature has enough for everyone so we're taking advantage. I recommend others do the same. The dream here is a thriving rural community with something for everyone. Of course we are open to anyone who desires to visit, stay, barter, teach, learn, work, or just chat over coffee. Hope to see you.
