Stone Garden Farm & Village
Richfield, Ohio,
United States
If you seek a place of ample learning, organic gardening, wild edibles growing abundantly and a working knowledge of heritage farming techniques, consider joining us at Stone Garden Farm. We are located in N. Ohio next to the scenic Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
We have moved and renovated 39 historic buildings including a blacksmith shop, letter press print shop, wagon repair shop, several barns, a weaving mill, tin shop, 2 windmills, a working sawmill, threshing barn, and a one room school house. These buildings (and much more) make up the Museum of Western Reserve Farms and Equipment. We plan to have every trade and skill common to a small town 150 years ago.
We are also the teach Heritage Homestead Classes, on things like cheese making, soap making, wild edibles, etc. http://www.heritagehomesteadclasses.blogspot.com
We sell honey, maple syrup, eggs, milk, cheese, organic produce, crafts, pumpkins, and christmas trees. Under construction this summer is a new gen'l store, bakery/cookhouse, blacksmith shop addition, and a greenhouse.
We have free folk & bluegrass gatherings every 3rd Sundays. The Ohio Buckeye Dowsers meet here monthly on the 4th Sunday. All welcome.
We don't drink or smoke. We eat a healthy diet. We honor Nature Spirits and teach Ancient Traditional Wisdom, Prophecy and Ceremony as taught to us by Seneca, Lakota, and other Elders.
We believe that in these changing times living in self sufficient communities is a necessity. 3 families with 2 kids each (all under 7) live here now. We hope to start a homeschool soon. many folks visiting daily to contribute, learn and help.
We are looking for people interested in teaching skilled and interesting trades to children and adults thru the school, and/or for folks to work on the farm. We are also looking for good people who can eventually 'take over' one of the many museum shops and create their own livelihood and teaching opportunities.
