Tierra del Sol
Oaxaca,
Mexico
Tierra del Sol is a Permaculture farm and sustainable-living center located in Tlacochahuaya, within the central valleys of Oaxaca, Mexico.
The site was designed based on the principles of permaculture and one of our primary goals is to experiment and promote sustainable living alternatives.
In contrast to our modern culture, which is often based on exploitation of nature, competition among people and irresponsible consumption of resources, in Tierra del Sol we´re working to create sustainable human habitats through care and respect for the natural environment, and by practicing cooperation with the magnificent and delicate web of life.
With these principles in heart and mind, we are working on projects that contribute to the health of the earth and the health of our community. We grow organic food, help restore the ecological balance of our site and share the lessons we have learned with others interested in sustainable living practices.
We´re currently building 3 yurt-like dwellings for people interested in a midium term stay (from 3 months to one year), as a pre-requisite to find potential permanent residents. Withi the next 5 years we wish to stablish a micro-community of 10-15 permanent members.
