The Roundhouse
We are a fairly new off-grid small Intentional Community in Arkansas. We have now officially been a community for a year as of Feb 1st!
Our goals are self-sustainability as well as harmony, cooperation, sharing, and promoting the growth of similar communities. Treating all with a gentle, kind and honest manner without violence.
At the Roundhouse work is a must for survival, therefore, everyday is work...if you want water-it must be pumped, if you want something to eat-wood must be prepared(cut), fire started, and afterwards dishes...
We have a small Rabbitry where we raise mainly New Zealand Rabbits. We also have Americauna Chickens the Easter Egg layers. We also have a small garden.
Not only do we work hard but we like to play and relax, too! Playing music, bonfires, cards, and board games are some of the things we enjoy on our off time..
The Roundhouse sits on 22.75 acres of forest..At the moment only about 3 or 4 acres is being used so there's lots of potential and are plenty of acres to go for nice nature walks. Our neighbour adjacent to us has a beautiful swimming hole that we get to use at our leisure..which is quite often, in the heat of the summer..
Right now, the Roundhouse is looking for strong competent persons who are interested in long term possibilities.

The Round House is an amazing place. Got the chance to stay there for a few months over the summer of 2010. Really beautiful out there. As you're approaching the roundhouse there's all these awesome stacks of river rocks on the side of the dirt road resembling structures of the Druids. Also one of the best swimming holes in the world is just a few mile hike away. Got the chance to help build the guinea hen coupe and drag those smelly creatures down the hill. Working in the garden is also an experience I'll always remember. Peace to the Round House. Much Love.

AWESOME!!

Caveman and I visited the RoundHouse for about a week. We did just get back to civilization. It was truly amazing there- a community. There is no electric power, no cell phone service even, but we helped with the gardening, caring for the rabbits, cooking over a wood stove, pumping and hauling water, etc... at night (when it was not raining) everyone would sit around the bonfire pit on big flat stones, and Alicat would play guitar, I would play drum, others would join in with other instruments and we'd sing and laugh and enjoy smores :) it was hard work, but there is amazing energy out there!! People pitch in to work, and we all enjoy relaxation time when the work is over. Sleeping in the RoundHouse was amazing, and the beauty of nature and living in it is breath taking... it seemed like heaven! Morning meaditation has never been so peaceful... even if Thelma the goat decides she likes the grass under your toes better than the grass elsewhere near you :)
