Rocky Top Living Site plan
In an agricultural area of Central Washington, this sensitive housing development makes a small footprint on land that is not otherwise arable – i.e. where nothing else will grow but sagebrush and other dryland scrub plants. To live as lightly on the site as possible, ten homes are clustered with conservation in mind – preservation of open land, responsible development practices and healthy lifestyle opportunities for any age group. The passive solar designs welcome the regional climate as part of living in a way that enhances our lives and the environment. The natural materials merge with the landscape and provide non-toxic interiors for residents. The location is at the crossroads of trails, communities, orchards, streams and wineries – and minutes from downtown Yakima.
The living homes for sale at Rocky Top are energy-efficient using passive solar home design to temper the extremes of hot and cold. Rocky Top’s new construction and home designs satisfy 5 star green building certification standards.
